... Searching for sun? You have only to cross the Pyrenees...

The Pyrenees forms the line between the Atlantic climate and the Mediterranean climate. From the foot of Spanish Pyrenees, the homeland recognises a Spanish continental climate: the summer is hot and practically dry; the winter can be cold during the night while the day temperature is until above 20°C in the sunny weather. The northern wind and the tramontane (cold sea breeze) have no chance through the protection of the surrounding mountains. The area notes 2700 sun hours per year and a small rainfall (average 540 mm per year). It guarantees a very healthy climate. Until the end of October, the weather is mostly perfect, moreover, to dine outside is still generally possible until Christmas holiday. From in the middle of January until the middle of February, it is recognized as the transition period, which then the nice weather returns as from in March. Ideal soil and climate are also the reasons for this area, as well as Rioja, which is renown for their quality wines.
