In the Spanish side, the size of the Pyrenees is two times wider than the French side, so that 2/3 of the mountains lie in Spain. The central Pyrenees or Aragonese Pyrenees form the part of Pyrenees with the highest mountain peaks: the Pico de Aneto in the Maladeta-massive above Benasque, the summit is 3404 m, followed by Pico Posets: 3371m, the Monte Perdido: 3355m and the Maladeta: 3312m.The Monte Perdido lies in the highest massive lime of Europe. The southernmost glacier of Europe and countless little lakes of high-mountains (ibones) lie at the Maladeta-massive.

The mountain river 'río Esera', which is dammed up at Graus in the lake 'Embalse de Barasona'. forms a river fall. At Esera, people can kayaking, fishing, rafting, ... . The lake 'Lago Barasona' has a surface area of about 10 km². For the sake of its clear blue water, it is also named 'lago azul' (blue lake). In more places, the shores form a broad-lakeside so that bathing and practising other water sports are ideal.
